The Honda Odyssey is one of the most popular minivans in its segment, but the time had come for a redesign. The all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey was introduced to the world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show last January, and then entered Canada at the Toronto International Auto Show in February. The 2018 Honda Odyssey will offer new technologies, more comfort and an improved engine.

Exclusive Technologies in the 2018 Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey will offer exclusive technologies when it enters the market later this year. The CabinTalk system makes it easier to communicate with passengers in the back, the CabinWatch system allows the driver to keep an eye on these same passengers using a camera, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi Internet access are just a few examples.

Access to the rear seats will be greatly facilitated by the new Magic Slide seats that also offer several cockpit configurations to carry objects of all sizes. On the safety side, every 2018 Honda Odyssey will be fitted with Honda Sensing active safety technologies, which include intelligent cruise control, rear rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and prevention, and automatic braking, among other features.

Under the hood, the new Honda Odyssey will be powered by a new 3.5-liter V6 engine that now develops 280 horsepower, 32 more than the previous model. A 9-speed automatic transmission will be standard, while an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission will be offered in the high-end Touring model. Thanks to this new automatic transmission and a lighter structure, the new Odyssey should be more fuel efficient.
